The sensor is based on Hall effect technology and detects the position from a rotating magnetic field. Contactless position detection using a magnet on a rotating object can therefore be achieved at relatively low cost. Among other things, possible applications include determining the steering wheel position in vehicle steering systems and use as an endless potentiometer. The contactless connection provides the opportunity to design completely sealed and isolated solutions. The sensor is available with three different output signals, i.e. analogue, PWM and SPI. |
